You should read the forums more, it contains alot of valuable information but you have to put in the hard work to see the rewards. Money isnt just handed to you on a silver platter.

Anyway, you can make use of other websites to bring traffic to your website.
Learn about SEO, invest some money on adwords if you can afford.

Find related sites who can link to your website, if your site is article based you can post articles @ digg.com or other poupular article sites to bring you some traffic.

Try stumbleupon.com to give you some instant traffic. Also try myspace.com.. don't try these if your site is just started up and very boring.

The most important part of having a website is to keep your site content rich so that viewers will come back if they like your site. It will spread by word of mouth eventually.. work on SEO in other words try ranking up high in search engines. good luck.

You cant do anything besides the standard things really. Just tell people about the site, post links, participate in forum conversations related to the topic of your site and wait for google to index it.

Sounds like his site is just about adsense. Make it interesting and do some marketing if you want to see traffic.

Submitting your best articles to free articles directories,
that's the best I can suggest..
    I thought it didn't work,
but eventually it brought some traffics to my website.

It is possible to generate more traffic, w/out paying for it. Avoid Adwords as long as you can....it just empties your pockets.

Network with other webmasters, link exchange, and write press releases for your site. The most important thing to do is provide unique content that is constantly updated. You want to keep your visitors loyal -- the last thing you want is them to check your site out for 1 minute and then leave.

Man that's too low, don't be lazy ... a few hours a day, getting indexed, using site maps, digging, pinging, exchanging links Aka "affiliating" will do the trick, and try to have more then a website, if you have 10 websites, getting 1$ a day from each one will be 10$ a day in case you are too lazy, if you are smart enough :
10 websites X 5$ each one will make you 50$ a day, it's not that hard to earn from AdSense pal .

    peace .

Increase your keyword rank in search engine. (eg. people search keywords xxx, and your site in top 10). It sure will get a lot of traffic but it really hard to do so especially in google.
Try to submit your site to directory, exchange link with high PR site, it will help to increase your position in search engine as well in PR. Nothing is easy :)
