How do I get more traffic to my site?

I only get about 10 visitors a day to my clipart site. I've done some link exchanging, but not a lot of progress in traffic in the last year.

 

you should try some of the higher pr social bookmarking website and free classified which help u to get decent ranking in google

 

Try getting more back links so that search engine will give you some free traffic.

You could always pay some webmaster to display your link on their site.

 

Don't give up, keep promoting your site, post some good comments on people's blogs, submit to social bookmarking and classifieds also (by the way, you can submit it to the website in my signature LOL hh... ).

 

As mentioned by others, it will take time before you start receiving traffic. In the meanwhile keep on adding good content and promoting your sites through link building.

Social bookmarking sites can send a lot of traffic your way. You need to signup for them, they are free though. Check http://socialmarker.com/ The ones on the top half seem to be more popular and generate more traffic for me.

Social marker will allow you to submit your site/page to all of them in somewhat one pop if you want. It takes a little playing around with to get the hang of, but they do send me some good traffic.

The other thing when submitting to these places is like seo. It's all about the title and description. You need to write a very catchy and descriptive title, along with a good description that is very eye catching too. Don't just say my nice graphics. Make people want to see why you have nice graphics.

I will advice you to concentrate on search engine traffic. To get more targeted, organic traffic concentrate on the contents (which should be unique) in your site and make contents for the human visitors and not for bots. Concentrate on on page and off page optimization. Place important, targeted keywords in your title and get more links related to your niche. Soon you will get steady increase in SE traffic

 

It's amazing to read all the replies here about adding contents, put keywords with all that stuff. Does anybody read the opening thread? It's a clipart site.

@gifstop. If you are willing to spend, just purchase an advertising space on high traffic sites.

 

Simple answer, Add more unique content and get more quality links

 

Telling u my story...I started off with a blog site with around only 10hits per day! Later on i found out the more words that i have in my post that people look for the more people come...
Example:take it as i want people to come my site by the word: Don

Then in my post in my post or thread as many words with Don i can...That way i get more visitors---Thats how it went for me

 

Focu on creatin alot of keyword rich sub pages

 

As your site is a clip art site - your should refine every page for search engine results.

Your customers will be looking for something specific in their clip art - so make sure you are very detailed in the explanations of the art you have on your site - and SEO your site to the MAX.

Digg, Furl, Spurl, Reddit, Dilicious, Twitter.. These are great social bookmarking sites and will help alot. Just dont spam them and use different descriptions and title for each site you bookmark at each bookmarking site.

 

Try article submission and video submission which will helps a lot

 

As others mentioned, for long term, build content and inbound links, so search engines start start to rank you.

In short term, build content and comments on relevant blogs/forums and join social media sites like StumbleUpon, Digg and Twitter.
