How do I get More Facebook Fans?

I've tried every thing to get new fans to my facebook page found here:

    http://www.facebook.com/theurbantwist

Now granted, I've been pushing my fan page maybe the last couple of months, but I thought that I would see more progress considering that I have close to 2,000 followers on Twitter and my website receives decent traffic and has quality content.

But comparing Facebook to Twitter and the traffic quality is far greater with facebook than with Twitter.

I've even used Facebook's advertising services to try and push my fan page but after a couple of days, I gave up on it, because even though I was getting clicks I wasn't getting any conversions. No one was pushing the like button even though I probably had 50k + ad impressions.

I read somewhere else on these boards that advertising with Facebook was probably the best way to go or shooting out a tweet to my followers, but I am just not seeing any progress.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions besides what I've already tried?

    Thanks...and I'm all ears.

make fake facebook accounts and add to the max of 5k on each account and then suggest them all to your fan page. takes time but works.

I actually never thought about that before. I may have to look into that. Sounds logical.

Yep...I've tried that and that seems to be the only way that I really have gotten any fans.

I'm leaning towards that. I've been doing a lot of research into that and have been reading up on buying some accounts or renting accounts if you will, but I'm scared to get burned and I actually have already. I've read a lot of posts where ppl will pay for these services and then once they pay, the person on other end just drops communication with them. And again this is what has already happened to me here on DP so I'm real cautious.

I think you really need to be patient here. It all boils down to why you really want to have all those fans cos you are not guaranteed better traffic by adding false accounts if you get the gist. I recently started a fan page (http://www.facebook.com/techsling) and started noticing some improvements only after encouraging some of my Friends to suggest to others. So, perhaps if you consider encouraging your own Friends and regular readers with whom you have developed good relationships, to invite ALL their friends. That might work better in terms of traffic.

I have used a paid service to get more facebook fans with a lot of success. Its not that expensive at all and they do really quality work. Orderfans.com is the website.

Thanks man and I have done that. I think that's the only way that I have gotten likes up to this point, lol. I think I'm getting impatient. I want results damnit! lol. But I understand what you're saying, maybe I should just try to cultivate relationships first with my readers.

Thanks for the info! How many fans did they provide you with? And how long did they take? I'm going to have to do my research on them first.

Don't you need a specific facebook fan demographic? I can't see the point in just buying any fans.

I agree...I'm thinking of trying it out and hopefully it'll create a snowball effect for others to join. People may be more inclined to become a fan if the group has 5k plus people in it compared to 150. I could also publish the number on my site. I'll be willing to publish the number with 5k. But I see your point. Even though I might buy some fans, I shouldn't expect too much from them as they most likely won't be part of the demographic that I'm looking for or need.
