- Submit your site to free directories, - Write an article and submit to article directories, - Exchange links with relevant sites, - Create useful and unique contents, people will link to you, - Buy links, - etc. Cheers.
Everytime I try to submit to free directories, I get an error message saying it wasn't validated or something like that. If I want to exchange links with relevant sites, could I create a "links" or "partners" page to have the links that I exchange with on there? Would that help anything at all? My site is a get paid to complete offer site, so I'm not sure if that counts as creating useful and unique contents.
Seems you submitted you sites to free directories with reciprocal. Try to find a free directories that do not require links back. On DP are dozens of that lists. Yes, it helps. You can find a link exchange script for that purpose. Many are ready to use freely.
Relevant backlink means the backlink from sites or from pages with same niche as your site. The relevant backlinks are more valuable for Seach Engines.
Personally I use Linkman from http: //www.phpjunkyard.com/ php-link-manager.php . It's simple, easy to install and easy to use. Sorry, I can't post the live link.
Seems like this thread should have finished long ago. Mr Submit basically hit the nail on the head. Further to the above and other posts on this subject there are loads of free directories that don't require return reciprical links. Check out: http://info.vilesilencer.com - download the excel spreadsheet and get submitting. You really dont need to be adding partners pages etc unless you really, really want to. What you also want to consider is why are you wanting backlinks? Is it purely for SERPs and PR or is it for getting more targetted traffic to your site(s) - if your looking for some targeted traffic perhaps consider buying some links on relevant niche directories or related sites. Best of luck...
You don't need backlinks for the sake of backlinks. The question you should've asked, I think, is: How do I get enough backlinks to outrank my direct competitor and get the #1 position in the search engine I'm interested in, and where should the backlinks come from? Here's what I usually do: Research your competitor's backlinks, where they come from (blogs, forums, homepages, site-wide links, directories, article submissions, etc.), and you'll have a plan of how to achieve your competitor's rankings. If you own a site dedicated to pets and animals, and wish to rank well for "cat food", for instance, do a Google search on "cat food", find the #1 ranked site and research it. Use this competition analysis tool to do the research. It pulls lots of data from the search engines on your competitor's backlinks, otherwise you'll spend too much time to do this research manually. When you realize where to get your backlinks from to rank well for the term you need, take action. Buy links, submit to directories, do reciprocal link exchange. Do whatever your competition did, only a little better. Here's the excellent tool for reciprocal link exchange I use on a regular basis to trade links. It's semi-automated, which makes sure I can filter out the junk links and keep them quality link partners. Wash, rinse and repeat, and success will be yours Remember, your backlinks should be related to your site's theme for best results. Hope this helps, Warkot
Link Baiting - write an article, guide, or list designed to get some free links, then spend some time promoting it everything (social media, article directories are a good place to start)
If you're looking for reciprocal link partners, then this tool from SearchBliss can help: http://www.searchbliss.com/seo-tools/back-links-finder.asp
Just tried it and didn't like it, sorry. It's a fraction less primitive than simple Google search, so I can't see the value of it (also, if you know how to google, you can craft MUCH more powerful queries). A script as primitive as that can be programmed in a weekend between long coffee breaks and watching TV, but then again, I don't see the value of it. Also, I understand the owner needed to force the users to type in characters to make sure a real person uses the tool, but I personally hate stuff like that. It has the side effect of making the tool impractical for everyday use. Thanks for sharing it, though Warkot
Also, I just checked and it costs $150 to get the unbranded version! All I can say is OH MY GOD. I wouldn't pay 2 cents for it, unless they put a gun to my head, but then again, only 2 cents Warkot
