Give us something to compare that three months with, please MM. What other directories did you submit to? What time delays? What other costs. What benefits? I've got no idea if three months is silly or way above industry standard unless we all pool out experiences across a range of comparable directories.
The ODP is not a listing service - there is no guarantee that you will even get listed. The ODP is staffed by volunteers that do it because it is a hobby. They do not get paid, and they do it because they enjoy making a directory. If you got listed in 3 months, you should be happy. Before the crash, the wait was years, not months (in many cases).
That sort of comment really annoyed me when I was an editor. Still annoys me. Like most editors, past and current, I have a full time job and a life outside the Internet. I used to edit when I could for as as much time as I had spare. And listed about 8000 new sites in my time for no pay. What right do you have to get other people to do your web marketing for you for nothing and if they don't do it in your timescale you insult them. Maybe you think the world owes you a living? DMOZ has a too many faults to mention but laziness of editors isn't one of them.
