I have been trying many time to submit my websites to dmoz and never got any of my sites approved. There is any good way to request a link in order to get approved? What kind of description I need?
Unfortunately there is not any quick way to do it. You just have to be patient and wait until they get around to reviewing it.
I have the same issue, i've submitted a month ago and still haven't received any response. Does anybody know the average time that takes them to review a site?
But the ODP still gets used in countless places across the Web. So a listing/link in the ODP inherently means links from many other places. The value of the ODP link itself probably carries more weight than all of the subsequent links combined, but it's still a positive.
I am having the same problem, none of my site get listed. Instead of waiting, I apply myself as DMOZ editor twice, so far none of my application gone through.
It takes a while to get approved. My last website took a few months and my current site still hasn't been listed. Takes time as does most things when it comes down to it.
It's not easy to get listed in dmoz, if I were you, I will take such an alternative action, such as articles marketing....
Follow the guideline and alter your description and keywords as per that. Make your content on website and description as unique as possible.
The problem with DMOZ is that they have so few editors for the sheer number of submissions. I have submitted many websites with hundreds or even thousands of pages of unique content with very few ads on and have never had a site added. I think a lot of it can be down to luck and whether the editor in your niche is super picky about the submissions. All in all I would suggest submitting and just leaving it as you have no real control over whether it will be accepted or not.
Well.. all I can say is don't jump the line.. The queue is quite long. On another not, you shouldn't worry about that at all because Dmoz link doesn't really give that much of weight. Instead focus on getting good value link backs from high PR sites.
imo find out who edits your category (chances are they are an active webmaster and can be found on forums like DP or Vertical specific forums). For example, I found a few dmoz gambling editors hanging out on gambling webmaster forums so I built up a relationship with the editor and you got some of my clients' sites in quick.
you have to wait for the approval because every directory takes time to get links approved, when admin comes to your link then if he finds your website having good content in it then he will approve so you have to be patience. signitysolutions is the best team who can do this task for you like they did for my site. they developed facebook applications for my website.
