Hello. I have a game site and I have been working on link building. I looked at some of the high PR game sites and did a backlink check on them to find out what sites are linking to them that give them the high PR. My question is how do I get these big sites to link to mine. How can I build high PR backlinks to get my site ranking high. I have been doing blog posting and stuff but can not get high PR links. It almost seems like these big sites will 0nly link to each other.
Well, it all depends. Basically, for most applications you will want to attack the longtail approach initially and then slowly start going after more competitive keywords. Start by adding unique content. The more interesting content that you add the better you will do - its that simple. The links will come as the search engines pick up your content.
Ask them? You can't get them to link to you without doing anything. You have to do something, maybe create a game?
if you want to a link from big sites you have to buy ink from them because many webmaster won't give the link for free
In my view, you can get links from big sites by following these things 1. Writing Unique and Interesting Articles 2. Making new softwares or scripts and sharing them for free with the public 3. Buying Links from high ranked websites 4. Linking to the websites you want links can also help, as the webmasters will track down the links and may inturn link back you 5. Start Social Bookmarking, many webmasters regularly visit social bookmarking sites in search for interesting contents, which may help you getting links
tarunkumar model covers some of the ways to get the big sites to link to you. Learn a little about the big sites you are interested in. Some of the big sites do like to share link love and will recognize that active readership with links to the top commentators. Just be sure that if you comment on a blog that it adds value to the post.
Big sites will never link to brand new sites unless you pay them. If you need traffic I would suggest you to focus on SEO and PPC. For link building... there are many other opportunities to get quality related links than begging other webmaster to link to you.
The best and cheapest option is to write unique and interesting content. Then contact the relevant big sites and tell them about your content. Don't ask for links directly. Just explain them about the content and what is special about it. If they like it, they will visit your site, respond to your email, and possibly link to it in the future.
It's really hard for a new website to get links from Top websites in their niche. Here are some tips that may help you get some links from Top websites: Write quality content Do lots of Social bookmarking Do guest blogging on top blogs in your niche Valuable comments/feedback to the top sites you want to get links from Write content about lists, top 10 kind of things
Some good tips given here but I disagree, some links just can't be bought but instead are evidence of something bigger. I've looked into your niche before, it's overstuffed with imitation and people just trying to break in. The problem is that one of the biggest dominators in that field is also one of the largest companies in the world, Viacom. Lightly put, Viacom (one of the largest media firms) owns MTV, which owns a flash arcade site. They have links on big sites like MTV of course, but all sorts of other high PR sites. You simply can't beat them - even with viral and guerrilla marketting it becomes expensive and difficult to kill them in the serps. You can try but the market is really stuffed and it either requires something really really radical or some serious sabotage of your competition. Your best bet is buying links, buy advertising on adsense and other cpc sites (pm me if you want some good ones that I use). But overall it's an upwards battle, and a pretty damn hard one because of Viacom's presence. When I researched it about a year ago, they had spread like 100 or so high PR 6-8 sites with links, the site for those curious was something like best flash games or something. I can't remember the name exactly, but the style was this gradient bluish gray-to black background, the logo was yellow - ok I know that really doesn't help but if I see the site again it'd be easy to recognize.
That rarely hurts and is often all it takes, though generally for a newer site, the two main ways are likely... 1. Pay them 2. Have something WORTHY of being linked too. Having #2 makes the kid's suggestion much easier and is often a requisite of paid links on reputable sites as well. As in, you can't pay me enough to link to crap on my main sites.
I don't think I follow what you are saying... IMHO, one would be smarter to develop a lot of unique content over a lot of links When I link to someone I could care less who they link to or who links to them... it's all about content.
As per me. Just offer them something interesting which they would really like to have on their site. Once they like it, ask them to link to your site and if possible also pay some in return.
Not strictly true. Most big sites won't link to you if you simply ask them. They get requests like that all the time. Your best bet is to create a resource that's so good that people will want to link to you of their own accord. With time that might include some big sites.
