Maybe you could try making your own traffic through multimedia. Google can't stop that if you had traffic from facebook youtube or twitter. you could do well for yourself with social networking traffic.

Make sure you have quality content on your site. Try to view it from a user point of view and see if you site really has such interesting/engaging content?

To gain quality back-links, try
Directory submissions - this is the basic to start with.
When you publish content on your site make sure you submit in different social bookmarking sites.
Get a facebook & twitter accounts for your site and get your content publised to these channels
Write guest posts on other blogs/sites
Write articles and submit in article directories
Get infographic and publish on your blog/site
Make sure you do press releases as and when you have something newsworthy to share
Contest - this will help in creating buzz and back-links and even more

You should have to wait for sometime to get backlinks . you have to contribute your time in it.Right now i prefer to do Social Bookmarking , Blog Commenting and Forum Listing. i am working on my website since last 6 month ... and i really got nice result now...

 

You can get backlinks from submitting to articles directories such as Ezinearticles and Goarticles about your subject, the more you submit to these authoritative article directories, the more backlinks you get, but it takes time

As a forum owner, a forum owner with 15 years experience and over 30 forums in operation...

I do want to say one thing!

If you are going to attempt to gain back links on a forum, make sure you post quality posts on the forum. I haven't seen too many on this forum as replied to topics which is a bit sad but that is a different topic I suppose. Don't follow the mass a post ignorant one liners... oops I called the one liner people ignorant, oh well sue me

Most forums today are going to "nofollow" signature links because of the idiots posting one liners to get their link seen and added as a back link... Hell I think even this forum did it and from seeing what I have seen so far, I don't blame them... but a big thank you to the inconsiderates who ruined it for us

If you are going to resort to forum posting to get a back link, all I ask is that you actually post something that will help add more to the forum Otherwise, you are abusing it and your site deserves to go nowhere
