I didn't know what a micro site was and had to look it up. They serve a limited purpose from what I can gather, so why do you think using them would be appropriate in the OP's case?

The OP said they were already doing Social Bookmarking and Article Submission, and the second reply suggested Web 2.0 and Directories. In any case these aren't new methods for 2012 they've all been around a long time.

As I admitted earlier, I didn't even know what micro sites were, and I still know very little. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they seem to function in a similar way to sub-domains and are usually used if the site owner has something which is not directly concerned with the main site but which they want to associate it with.
So if for example there was a site all about aircraft, and the owner had some information about boats, they maybe wouldn't want it as a sub-domain because it would confuse their offer, so they could opt for a micro site instead. If I've got that wrong, please do correct me.

But what I'd really like to know is bearing in mind we haven't even seen the OP's sites, why do you think micro sites are the answer? Are you saying that they are something anyone would benefit from? My limited reading suggests that they should be used with care so as not to appear as doorway pages?

 

For 2012, since video is the best to drive traffic, a good quality content, plus on page optimization.
