Well I decided to take the plunge recently and give ecommerce a try. I have been doing a lot of research and am hoping the site will go live in around a week or so therefore I need to have a plan on how to market it. I was thinking of going through facebook as a main source and locally advertising. The store will be a small-scale, affordable jewellery site if this helps at all. Thanks in advance Sam
Personally i would probably start off with a very targeted AdWords campaign, while also doing SEO work. Adwords should produce instant results, while SEO will take a while and is an ongoing process. You can give facebook a go too, but be careful who you target and how much you spend. Make sure track your advertising campaigns so you can see what works and what doesn't.
Step 1. PPC Advertising This is the best form of advertising to get targeted traffic to your website. It will definitely increase your online presence. Step 2. E-mail Marketing This is perhaps one of the most powerful marketing tools available to you. It's also one of most inexpensive tools that you can use to generate attention to the products you are offering. Step 3. Social Media Marketing Social Media marketing is a simple and power advertising strategy that generates exposure and traffic to your ecommerce site. Step 4. Posting to Forums Posting to forums and message boards can be really good for getting targeted traffic to your capture pages.
