How do I forward port 80

    I'm a newbie at networking and I need to forward port 80 on my router.
    How is that done?

    It depens on what kind of router you have. Maybe read the documentation on your router website.

    Find the 192.x.x.x IP of your router and go to it using IE from inside your network. If your router supports it, it will be there (i.e. "Virtual Servers").

    To access the admin interface you can go to :
    192.168.1.1 for wired router
    192.168.0.1 for wireless
    once your into the admin interface you need to look for a tab called [advanced]

    under advanced you should see an area that you can enter your port range you want to forward,what protocols you want to be forwarded[tcp/udp] and the ip address of the computer you want to accept the forwarded packets.

    the idea is the same for all routers just the tabs and place to forward your ports will be different.

    if your running a server you can also run it in DMZ mode so it isn't behind the router.
