Just in my adsense account. Got one click on one site that paid me $5.98...weird figure. How do I find what the ad was, the keyword, etc?
Wow, congrats on such a large click. Unfortuantly, if you have not set up channels to track clicks, you really can't find out. Channels can be created through your Adsense account. There isn't a way to find out what the keyword was; that's secret Google info
But either I missed something on adsense page, or went to wrong page. I know what site it was as it is channeled (only one page, so it was not an interior page or anything else).
This can be VERY frustrating, but I've found the solution (for me). I've had some lost links -- big ones, too. I URL track all my ads, but I also do specific channel tracking on the newest placed ones since I discovered the major problem with URL tracking. Some of my pages are FAQs which offer people an overview of the information on a given site. I've learned (through sitemeter) that some people save these HTML pages to their hard drives. It is funny to look at "Who's on" in sitemeter and see someone is on at C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\blahblah123121.html This means that someone saved my HTML to their hard drive, but Sitemeter still tracks it. Also, some of your information could be "scraped" to a cache, dropping your URL and adding the cache site's URL. Your ads might still be displayed. If you ONLY use URL channels, a click on these off-site pages would result in your making an untrackable income. One of my highest clicks in history likely came from someone clicking an ad on a page they saved to their own hard drive. I tracked it down by looking through the log on sitemeter, seeing that there was a person who browsed my HTML from their own hard drive, and may have clicked a link. Why it would be high paying is beyond me, maybe AdSense smart-priced me really high because of some bug that gives the C:\ drive more high paying ads? I don't know that answer. Nonetheless, if you don't use specific channels within an ad (such as with URL channels), you could lose that link's location if the page and ad leave your URL.
