How do I find out where a website gets all their traffic? Is there a peice of software or online service that will run some type of report that will tell me where all a websites traffic is coming from?

Only the website owner would really know...

Alexa is one indicator but by no means accurate.

You could always send an email to the webmaster asking them...

Search Google to see if you can find their site mentioned on any other sites, or see if you notice any PPC ads leading to them.

Some people pretend that they are interested in advertising on their site and therefore asks where they get their traffic. You could try this. Backlinks is another solution, alexa is another one yet again.

Basicly you can't but you can get an idea from where it's coming from by checking if they are running any Ads/SEO going on.

they are unlikely to share you where they are getting traffic from. exact reason you want to find out yourself right?

most people when they sell the site will show you referral stats.

why don't you just ask for them? email them? it doesn't hurt to.. what they gonna say? "no and you are funny for asking"

good luck.. and alexa.com isn't the only one.. try compete.com

    What John said.

Also, look at ther backlinks through Google. Though this isn't 100% accurate.
