How do I find out the real age of a domain? When it was very first registered on a service like NameCheap, GoDaddy, etc..? I didn't give this much thought until i just recently registered a domain and was thinking, although i am registering this domain on NameCheap, it doesn't mean im the first one to do it, it could have been owned many years ago, then left to run out and is now available again.

Even on domains that registrars say are available? I though Whois checks only worked on domains that are registered. Because when you buy a domain from (in my case NameCheap) you have to purchase Whois so that it people can find out personal information, etc..

I have just done the Whois look up there, it comes back this: http://whois.domaintools.com/carq.info
How many owners has this domain had? I had a look but cant seem to make sense it :p

Go to DomainTools and do a whoi search. You will see when it was 1st registered and the "Drops" shows how many times someone registered and then left it to expire and drop.Cheers!
