    you actually have to setup the channel ID. once you are logged into adsense, go to adsense setup, generate a code for your ad and on the last page, it will ask you to add a channel if you want to. u can add a channel by putting a name for the channel which then becomes your channle ID for that specific ad.

    google_ad_slot = "xxxxxxxxxxxx";

    when you get your code, I believe that is your channel id, it appears google has changed the way they code their ad blocks since I last visited them. That is the only other number in my code besides my pub.

    and if you don't enter a channel id, you shouldn't run into any problems anyway.

    I actually ran into this problem today and I had to modify my templates code, as the old method changed and you can't really find the channel ID anymore due to Adsense's new Manage Ads feature. You might want to contact the Adsense team and ask about it.

    google_ad_slot = "xxxxxxxxxxxx";

    Seems to be a changing number and not the channel id.
