Hi, Recently, one of my forums went down and I thought I'd lost everything. Last week, however, it came back, so I copied all data from the members list to a text file. Is there a quick way to extract just email addresses from this list? thanks in advance
You may want to copy your text file to a spreadsheet. Then sort from there. If you don't have MS Excel you may want to consider OpenOffice.org They have an open source version.
If the text file is delimited i.e data, email, data then it can be done quite quicky as said above using excel. If you want you can PM me and I can do the data work for you. I am a data manager for a mailing house in the UK. Just let me know.
This is a very tedious job - PM me the file with the emails and I will filter out the emails for you and send it back
I have tried to use MS Excel, but each line of data appears in one cell. their username-their email address-628 26 Dec 2008 29 Jun 2009 Yes -- the whole of the above appears in one cell only, rather than spread over a number of cells. Is it possible to filter within a cell?
Very simple copy paste data to excel -> Data -> Convert text to columns -> separate char set - as used for the fields else send me file to convert for you
