Hi guys, I have a blog on 'making money blogging', but the ads I have on there seem to be about property investing. I presume the problem is that I called the blog 'this blog will pay my mortgage'. Does that determin the ads I get or is it more about the content? Thank you in advance for any advice Meanna Blog
Firstly, I couldn't see any ads on your blog page. Secondly, your subject matter is a hotly contested area at the moment with literally millions of blogs on how to work from home, do very little and earn gazillions of dollars. It's a saturated market and so it's even harder to get to the top of the SERPs - where you need to be to earn any money from ads (you need the traffic, you see). Adsense ads are contextual and are based on your content as well as the main meta data in the page. Although the URL does have an effect, if the Adsense robots have crawled your page enough times, your ads should be much more on-target in terms of context. This takes time - sometimes weeks. If you have a persistent ad that keeps appearing and it's off-topic, you can exclude the advertising URL/domain using the competitive ad filter in your Adsense account pages. Make sure you have good written textual content with a smattering of keywords to give Adsense a hint. Another tip is to make sure each post is on its own page. This avoids any dilution of keywords with other keywords from slightly different subjects - this makes it easier for Adsense to serve relevant ads. A wide range of keywords and subjects will mean a wide and possibly confusing range of served ads.
Google will know to find relevant information for you blog but unfortunatelly I think they pay too much attention on title tag you can influence the decisions of google by implementing section targeting https://www.google.com/adsense/supp...23168&ctx=en:search&query=ignore&topic=&type=
