Depends on the type of file. If it's a .PSD (photoshop source), you canm open it up with photoshop and edit the text layer simply. If, however, it's a PNG, GIF, JPEG or the image files we're used to viewing, then you'll need to remove the text by doing some editing (for example, clone tool in photoshop). It really depends on the image itself though.

use the text tool for it by press the (t) and u can also apply the adobe styles on it by press f6 and the click on styles
It can be edit if the file is Psd but id its Jpeg, it depends on the tool that you used. i recommend you use clone stamp after you remove the text if it is Jpeg format. hope it can help a little bit..
