How do I drive traffic to my sports blog?

I have a a sports blog, thebadassitudeblog dot com. I have had it for a while and I have now decided to pay more attention to it and grow it. I actually want to turn it into a crow sourced blog but right now my biggest problems is that I get very little traffic to it. I need advice on 2 things:
1) How do I drive traffic to the blog and promote it to a point where it is economically viable?
2) I want to crowd source the content (find volunteer writers) and therefore I need to find people who are interested in joining a community of sport enthusiasts who enjoy writing about it. What is the fastest/best way to do this?

 

1. If you want to drive traffic to your blog then the first thing you can do is to use social networking site and share your articles to people that might get interested in your articles. Second, participate on blog communities that is relevant to your niche; establish good relationship and reputation so that you and your blog will gain people's interest.
2. I haven't tried finding volunteers writers but I believe you can post an ad about it on job sites.

 

I think making your presence felt on Sports related Forums will help alot promoting your Blog. Be very active with an attractive signature linking to your Blog and I am sure you will get a lot of traffic.

 

well... I'm sorry to say but I wouldn't read your blog as it's not really up to date and just not good enough.
Did you see competition for sports related sites? you are competing against major newspapers and sports channel who hire lots and lots of journalists.

 

According to my expirience. Social media marketing is the best way to drive traffic to your website.

 

1. Use social sites: Twitter, Facebook, Stumbleupon, Reddit, Digg etc.
2. Comment in online newspapers' sport news.
3. Allow Guest blogging (If you want content on your site for free).

 

You are in a very competitive field. Why would someone go to your site vs ESPN?

 

Using social sites such as twitter & facebook helps, You also have to make sure that you have unique articles and also try to join online communities in the same niche.

I checked your blog its is Good, If you want to good traffic for your blog you can get through Social media platform also need to keep Quality Content for your blogs updates it is also a strong point for blog promotions..

 

Follow these points

1) Allow guest posts including anonymous users.
2) Use social networking websites like facebook, twitter, etc.
3) Submit your blog to all search engines where is available
4) Post your comments in other blogs and your signature should have your blog name and address.
5) Make sure to post atleast one content on daily basis.
6) Follow other sports websites and capture some news from them again post that in your blog with few changes.
7) Check the title and description of your blog and those should be very attractive.

You are going to have to create content that stirs up controversy and gets people FIRED UP to get them engaged and coming back to your blog. You cannot be another "I report the sports news" blog.

Be an opinionated, Bad Assitude, personality and share it with wild abandon on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

You personality will grab attention and traffic and help you attract other "Bad Assitude" contributors, too.

1) for me the way I would build it and build it fast would be with high quality unique content and do this daily and make sure that I am extremely active on social media. And this could easily take it to 2000+ daily visitors.

2) Then if you are crowd funding you need very high quality writers that are not using the content somewhere else and in my opinion are very hard to find and they often expect free links back to their website and this can reflect badly on your seo and make you come across as an article directory. My advice is that it is quicker if you do it yourself!
