I like this basic layout for a website, but I want to make my own graphics and use it for a health site: http://www.templatehelp.com/preset/pr_preview.php?i=11764&pr_code=9E4818cz0EyuRbaJBbKRm7Zip385X6 I know basic HTML and that's it. I've been working on my site using Joomla but can't seem to ccustomize it the way I want to, although I like the content management features. I guess I need directions on making a joomla template? Does that involve CSS?
Yes the main point is to understand CSS. The best way of doing it is to use the Firefox extension called Web Developer. This has all sorts of functions that will help you understand CSS better, then you'll be in a better position to edit a template.
Well if u already have a coded template then it should have a CSS attached to it. Otherwise, you'll need to get it coded, or attach a pre-made CSS to it. However both these things, can be eliminated by changing coding and images in the template that you already have in ur Joomla.
thank you! I'll look into the Firefox extension. Yes, changing the existing template sounds much less daunting than starting from scratch!
