First of all, you are entering a new site into a VERY competitive area that is subject to a lot of spam.

Read my latest blog post about this.

Also, a nice way to tel if you are suffering sandbox syndrome is to check the last deep crawl and your last sitemap access in google webmaster central.

If your sandboxed, which you most likely are. Your site will be nowhere to be seen, maybe #1000  but with a new site its unlikely that your going to jump up with the big sites in a matter of weeks. Keep building links..

Also - have you submitted an XML feed to Google Sitemaps. That's certinally speeded up the process for me for a couple of sites.

 Thanks I did That from when I first launched my site. Does yahoo have a sand box? Because my site went up at the same time as my friends site and he is already indexed in yahoo. Well some of his pages are indexed. His site has 200k pages....When we started making our sites we didnt realize that making a big site out of nowhere is bad... But anyway. My site has about 500 pages and I only have my homepage indexed. was wondering if yahoo has a sandbox or not...

Yahoo does not have a sandbox per se. Rather, it has a much longer delay than google before it gives power to a backlink.

With just 10 inbound links all from nondescript blogs and 800+ words in your keyword metas you can't expect anything better.

Michael, That sounds right to me. I removed most of the meta Keywords. I also submitted my site to some directories. I'm figuring about 2-3 backward links a day maximum wont be too much? Is there anything else I need to fix?

Add more content. Useful content that people will want to link to (It's ahrder than it sounds).

    Buy a Yahoo directory listing

    Offer something FREE.

Forget google in first 3-6months,target for msn,get more inbound links.
no matter how many links you get a day.,it don't hurt MSN rank.

Get rid of some of the adsense. The page looks way too spammy right now. That will prevent natural links to your site.

Based my experience, sand box is 'google sees your website but ignores content till you establish trust'. this includes not caching your pages.

    Hi my dear friends,

Please permit me to share my experience about Google Sandbox.
No webmaster will like the Google Sandbox. But, a smart webmaster will use the sandbox as an opportunity to build a website that Google simply cannot refuse.

If your website is sandboxed, here my tips to escape from there:
    1. Change your website layout
    2. Add your website content
    3. Submit your articles (with your website name attached) into some article directories to increase link popularity
    4. Submit your web to Social Bookmarking (only 3 social bookmarkings maximum per day).

Google still ranks websites in much the same way that they had in the past. Websites are judged on the quality of their inbound links and the quality of their content. Google will continue to change how they evaluate inbound links and content, but the basic elements of their rankings will remain the same.
Some opinions say that it takes 6-12 months to escape from Google Sandbox, while another opinions say it takes only a few weeks to escape from Google’s sandbox. But, if you do nothing, your website may not be released from the Google Sandbox.

Finally, I want to say that the Google Sandbox is only intended to reduce search engine spam. It is not intended to hold people back from succeeding. Google is looking for websites that offer quality contents for us as Google’s customers. Google still relies on the natural voting system that was first used to establish pagerank. So, keep positive thinking ! :)

now when you say change site layout, do you mean I need to change my site layout? or do you mean change it to keep it fresh for google?
