How Do I Delete Messages In My Inbox?

This may have a really simple answer but can anyone tell me how I delete messages from people that are in my DP inbox? I posted a thread on the links forum and as usual over 80% of the replies I get are spam. I used to just delete them as I read them but I can't work out how to do this now with the new board. Can anyone help?

    1. Go to your Inbox page
    2. Open the conversation/message you want to delete
    3. Click the leave conversation button
    4. A box will appear and you choose the option that suits you best

    You're welcome.

This is such a horrible way of deleting conversations!! I don't want to have to open up every single message to be able to delete it. We use to have the option of deleting convos in bulk!!

You don't have to delete them. They will sell delete after 6 months on their own.

Thats good to know.....but I wonder how much space we have before that 6 months is up. Most inboxes could fill up by that time.

Also....really hating that fact that I have to start ALL OVER with my reputation here. I had A LOT of iTrader (positive) points here and now their all gone. You would at least think we could get a few of these transferred to likes so I can at least post in the Marketplace.

^^ This really makes we not want to utilize the site anymore......

Your iTrader rating is still there. Check the "Marketplace" tab on your profile.

I actually prefer the new format - the amount of spam link sellers that I get emailing me is unreal. Now I can delete their message and stop them from emailing me all in one swift action.

Is this default by xF or you made some modifications? Can you tell me because i am facing with same issue on one of my xf forums. Default "deletion" of conversation is pain.

Deleting messages is more of a hassle now for me. Anyone else agree?

I have 30 messages from people who i asked not to contact me and i'd prefer those messages gone earlier than 6 months so I can review serious applicants to my jobs & review messages I actually want.

Not even going to ask why you would go out of your way to ask people to not contact you, and then on top of it, they did 30 times... lol

But for future, you don't even need to ask people to not contact you, just add them to your ignore list straight away.

Well in that case if it's not based on the username, I assume you have to read the message before you know you didn't want them to contact you (at which point you can click the leave conversation option when reading it).

Thanks for the insight, but I don't see my iTrader anywhere under Marketplace. However, it doesn't make much of a difference cause I don't use Marketplace, only the "Buy, Sell, Trade" area, where I hire programmers, services, etc.

There's just no way around it......users want to be able to delete messages in bulk. It's a pretty simple and justified request. Until it is an option again, I'm sure people will just continue to complain, much like myself. When were posting threads for services (hiring or selling), products, information, etc, were going to receive a TON of PMs, even after the hiring/selling date is completed. This is when mass deletion would be nice to have.

The old iTrader is stated on "Legacy iTrader rating". It's yours 43 - (100.0%).
