Hi everyone. I put together a mock-up for a potential client. I'm relatively new to the design world, but I'm making an effort to write valid, standards-based code. Unfortunately, IE doesn't render the pages the way it is supposed to. Other browsers (Firefox, Safari, Opera) render it perfectly. http://www.flagshiplabs.com/westside I just don't even know where to start - do I completely rewrite the site with tables? Any hints? Maximum compatibility is a must. Thanks! Jameson
Turns out Mac IE lacks support and has bugs in nearly everything I was trying to do. I was also under the initial impression that Mac IE rendered somewhat similarly to Win IE - apparently not. Since it's such a small percentage of the browsers out there, I've decided not to worry about it too much. -Jameson
It is quite a pain mac/IE5, there's a few things to note about it, which causes problems. As you've said, it's not really a major concern any more as the browser is found in poor design studios and old household macs.
IE5 of macs have loads of problems there are over 18 million results for problems with IE5 of Macs A good start for problems would be http://www.macedition.com/cb/ie5macbugs/ Personally I wouldnt be too concerned as it is quite an old browser, many people of a mac usually use Safari anyways.
