I tried making the URL's customizable to what I want them to be, but wordpress says I have to insert something in to the code to make that options doable. What does this mean, and how do I do this?

Hi, you'll need to enable permalinks. See this article on how to get it going http://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_Permalinks_SubPanel

Note that your Webhost will have to support .htaccess files for permalinks to operate correctly. Let me know if you run into any issues.

    Virgil!
