    You should start with the simple HTML site. Using CMS such as Joomla can be confusing and sometimes tricky for you, especially with template modifying. i agree with some members that you should hosting your site on hostgator where you can choose via fantastico deluxe some of CMS.

    Its easy to say than to do that really, mate. I know html, css and Javascript and I have struggled to build just one page of website and it took too much time to do that so I have decided to learn one of CMS program, joomla to create my next websites.

    There are many to develop your own website. First and very easy way is Wordpress. Just watch Tutorial on youtube of wordpress. Its very easy.
    Second way if you like coding then see the videos or HTML/CSS on youtube .

    Hi Emma, if you want to create a simple website ( Static), then move ahead for HTML & CSS web languages. you can create it using a tool Adobe Dreamweaver. And if you want a dynamic website then can use CMSs like Wordpress/Joomla .     firstly you need to learn the programming language like ; (asp.net , php ,java, ect) as your choice . so that you can easily make your own website. but it is important to have command in any one language .when you think you can create better website you can buy domain from them or go to a hosting company and buy your domain and hosting to create your website.
