i feel that i have been scammed by a member of this forum.
i recently purchased 5 photoshop tutorials that were supposed to be his work and not just direct copies from random tutorial websites. i have filed a claim with paypal.
while the amount of $$ involved is next to nothing anyways its not the reason i am pursuing this.

That has nothing to do with a moderator. That's between you and the member and/or the law. Nothing we interfere with.

Well DP not allowed to do this its all depends on you and the member. How can you blame on DP? Do you get permisson from DP to do this deal.

You should check his activity before you made any deal. Try to contact PayPal for refund.

i wasnt really concerned so much about the refund, its the fact that if he is ripping people off i thought a mod might liek to know about it.

More or less, yes. As discussed here in S&F many times, ultimately there is no proof we can rely on to judge whether or not to ban him/her. It is YOUR responsibility to conduct business in a safe manner, not ours.

I do believe there is a disclaimer somewhere that says you're on your own...

(there are 60K+ members here...the moderators don't have the time to worry about everyone's personal transactions...)

Do your due with paypal, and if you feel really strongly about it...go to the general forum and mention it...but you better be ready to back yourself up...

oh well then, i think i was being pretty careful really, i more or less just wanted to see what he had to offer as it sounded too good to be true.
he wanted 20.00 and i ended up paying 5 so like i said its not the money at all. i was concerned he will be continuing to do this to others for larger amounts.

I guess all you can do for now is leave him/her a negative feedback. Hope everything works out for you!

threating people with bad rep might work sometimes,

but best is to file a complaint with paypal ... that locks the funds until you are OK or get it 100% back

I doubt Paypal would side with the op because the goods aren't tangible. Plus he paid for the tutorials, and I'm not sure whether they care that it was infringing copyright.

Negative Itrader would be the best thing to do.

Perhaps if you'd like to pay to be a member here then Shawn can hire a lawyer to look at every sales thread and make sure it's legit. lol

DP only provides the place - it's up to you to do the research and know what you're buying and from who.
