How do I collect payment for a text-link ad on my site?

    Hey all,
    I recently had a client that was interested in placing a text-link ad on my website. (Swamp Rat Racing)
    What is the best way to collect their payment without having to pay a middle man? (ex. paypal, etc.)
    I am new to selling direct ads for any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

    A wire transfer?

    However wire transfer fees tend to be high too.

    PayPal doesn't eat up much- you will probably end up giving them anywhere around 5%, which isn't too bad IMO.

    From what I've seen and experienced, paypal is the norm. The only free way I can think of would be him mailing you a cheque.

    Surely just accept a paypal payment - not sure why you are asking the question to be honest - its a total no-brainer.

    Free way is cheque, other than that you will have to pay, paypal and Google checkout aren't too pricey really.

    I normally use PayPal monthly subscription for text link purchase. It is hassle free and worth the effort. My 2 cents :)

    PayPal does have an invoicing facility, if that is what you are asking.

    There is no way to get rid of the middle man such as paypal.
    Unless the buyer is located near you so that he can pay you in cash.
