How do I close a thread in BST?

    I want to close my contest thread, now that it is over, by clicking the hazard button but it gives this message.

    Note: This is ONLY to be used to report misplaced threads, spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts.

    Do these threads just stay open or do I disregard the message and ask for it to be closed?
