You need to keep in mind that since you have a pretty new website try going for the keywords that have low competitions, you can't think of having a first page SERP for a keyword with millions of searches in just a few days. Go for lower searched keywords first, you can go in for the heavy keywords later on.

Well, I think you should be go for the average cpc and low competition. But first you should think about what prospective customers would type in if they were looking for your product or service. And Lower searched keywords or higher sdearched keywords are not the fact. The fact is to peak up right keyword, have unique content and do quality seo to get top.

Try to find out the more relevant keywords. Then look for the Competition Vs. Search Volume. If the competition is more than 90% don't go for that.

And remember "think like the fish, not the fisherman". How do consumers search for your products? Like said before start by long-tail keyword phrases (in general the more words in one keyword phrase, the more longtail it is). if it is profitable to you, you can scale it up and try a bit more broader terms.

SUCCESS FACTOR: Make sure you define your goals and make sure you measure the right things numbers to see if your goals are met (in fisherman terms: Define your KPI's, measure them, execute, check, control, return feedback)

Adwords is a great way to test the market and determine how many searches are actually being done. SEtup a campaign, put only one exact match keyword in the campaign and run it for a few days. You can find out how many searches are being done by the amount of impressions by day by the total impressions share.

So yes, Adwords is a great way to do research on what terms work and whether there is a market for what you are selling. I'd highly recommend you to do some testing first before you go launching a full on business. You should be able to know what kind of conversion rates and market share you can expect in a year from now based off research done in Google Adwords. It's a great way to deteremine your SEO strategy.

Adwords has tools that will show you whether or not your ad shows up for a keyword... try multiple keywords, run the tools and see which ones are promising... you do not need to go to an SEO company for this... adwords even gives you alternative keywords to try/test...
