How do i check what sites link to me?

    Im a fairly new webmaster and i was wondering what is the best free way to check what other sites are linking to me?

    do a google search for "backlink checker" you may find a tool that helps you determine your links.

    1. Just create a webmaster google account (it is free):
    http://www.google.com/webmasters/

    Then you get information about your site, including a listing of your backlinks.

    2. Otherwise use the link function of Yahoo explorer:
    https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/

    EDIT
    the "link" command with google (as suggested by theapparatus) does not show comprehensive information because Google deliberately limits the released information (in order to avoid spams). Compare:
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...k:www.willgoto.com/&btnG=Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
    and
    https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http://www.willgoto.com&fr=sfp&bwm=i

    otherwise just open yahoo.com and type.

    Check your Google webmaster account and there you can look at the external sites that link to yours.
