checking backlinks on google is a bit difficult cause google doesn;t show all the backlinks to a site/page and only show a sample of links. for yahoo, you can check it with yahoo site explorer using the code link:http://url

 

Thanks. The reason that I'm asking is that Yahoo site explorer doesn't seem to offer the option of allowing me to check my backlinks anymore.

 

Yahoo site explorer is great for this purpose.

 

I just checked yahoo site explorer and it worked for me, so its still up. Gives the most comprehensive list, but doesnt necessarily rank them nor give you the link juice that the page is contributing, for that stuff you have to pay sites ...

There are many tools available on the net, just google it and you will find many. however i prefer Yahoo site explorer and backlinkwatch.
These both work great.

 

Number of backlinks can be easily checked with seoquake.

 

yup i like backlinkwatch to check it. This tools not only show how many backlinks but also show report about pagerank.
