Someone is selling me a site. Nice amount of pages, I would like to use it for the coop, but I see many pages without description. How can I check the pages the API sees so I can get an idea of how much weight the site would give me?
Found this tool today on DP. Uses the API key and gives pages in index. http://www.seogeeks.com/tools/website-analysis/index.php
He he... nope, not yours I seem to have a real bargain in front of me... let me close the deal and I'll post it here and see what you think about it
I have just started using http://g-metrics.com to track pages cached by google. It is a nice tool. It uses the google api but doesn't ask you to enter a key. Dunno how that works. Ross
I thought the same Fryman then found there were very few pages actually indexed on the site, else we would have been bidding against each other Seems there are coop members on the prowl everywhere
This tool shares one API (or just a few) but because of the increased popularity, it now works for only the select few (it runs out queries before it gets to 4 out of 5 of my sites)
I don't use it for that because it only does complete sites. You can't specify an allinurl: if you are running a folder on the coop.
No it doesn't: www.dmoz.org Google 61,100 9 14,100 Apr 7, 2005 Disable www.dmoz.org/Business/ Google 1,860 8 656 Apr 7, 2005 Disable
I stand corrected...I just tried it and it worked. I guess I never put it in that way because: http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&q=site:www.dmoz.org/Business/&meta= doesn't work.
Because it only updates page count when backlinks update which means that it very rarely updates! g-metrics (used to) update every day. I emailed g-metrics but have not had a reply. Ross
Yeah, I've tried to contact them a few times over the last few weeks and just gave up. The blog and everything else seems to have been abandoned too.
I guess Keytracker a fine job, though not always 100% accurate and why not use it for the whole site and then analyse the results according to your needs. Rakesh Anand
I've found the key tracker to be prety accurate, can't say it was a 100% accurate becuase I didn't really compare it too many times but all the times that I did, it was right on the money!!
The tools are working properly again. You can get the page count from the api using the website analysis tool in my sig. It does require you to have a Google API though.
