Do you mean that someone has an affiliate program and you want to join it and then promote their products? If this is the case then all affiliate programs should come compiled with stats, so you shouldn't really have to worry, but sometimes you may want to keep an eye out as a lot of programs are accurate, but there are a minor few where their stats are slightly off.
