How do I change my background on Dreamweaver?

Hi,
i'm working on a web directory with Dreamweaver, but don't know how to change my background.
When i right-click on the page & add ablack jpg file or put it black: it just does it on the outer right side of the page.
Please help me out!!

 

Could you post the HTML? It's a little hard to determine what's going on from a screenshot.

Did you use a table, and give it a color white, which overrides the black background within the table's margins?

 

i bealive you have some setting option for background !
