How do I change a white background to transparent using Fireworks 8?

Hello. I am sure this is easy to do, but for whatever reason it is not working for me. I had someone make a logo for me, and it looks like the background is transparent in Fireworks 8, but when I put it on my site, it has a white background. Does anyone what the problem is and/or how I can fix it so the background is transparent? Any help would be greatly appreciated... :)

Cool :) thanks for doing that. Can you please explain how you did that? Is there a way to do it so the text isn't affected?
