    Log-in to PayPal. Go to "Profile>My Money>My preapproved payments>Update"
Now it display all the merchant names with clickable link. Click the merchant name next page display merchant details click its "Cancel" link. That's all.

If there is anything goes wrong contact the PayPal support. They are really customer friendly ( some situation 2 or 3 customer care person send emails to help one contact ;) )

just set it to 0.01 (1 cent limit) per month when you don't think you are supposed to be billed anything and re-enable it back to a reasonable amount when you purchase something
I do this with Godaddy all the time. Just don't like an idea of being bill for unexpected auto-renewal

if you are using paypal, and you have your client's paypal email, you can cancel all subscription one time.

what kind of subscription is it? If you opted in for a certain amount of times per the TOS of whatever you are buying every month it might not be possible to cancel. PayPal allows different subscriptions for sellers - for example rankpay.com - they charge their clients every month and are glued to a 6 months contract. The client can't just leave whenever they want... the best best is email the person/company you are subscribed to.
