How do I calculate the value of a domain name?

Totally out of the blue, I've been contacted by a person wanting to know whether I am willing to sell one of my domain names.

I wasn't planning to sell it and I am using it for a project that I'm working on. However I could be persuaded for the right price.

My question to you all is how should I assess its value?

Domain value can be calculated on different basis, here is list

    1. Name : If the domain name is short and good for search engine then its worth is good.
    2. PR : If PR is high then domain worth increases
    3. Popularity : If the domain name word is popular then its worth increases

There are many many many points which cant be said if you want to find or want experts review on your domain just post it in Appraisal section and get value of it.

I would suggest you to do that before you sell any domain.

    Thanks

Thanks for your comments, I'll look at those areas.

I have also taken up your suggestions and posted a new thread in the Appraisals section.

It depends on the Domain name length(shorter names go for higher prices), Domain extension (.com has higher price ), it's Pagerank..and how it is ranking in Search engines.

Don't get too high headed with Estibot. I know some of my domains @ website can make me a fortune if I'm according to that tool coz all in all its still a tool.
I will go and see how much your domain cost.Thats human appraisal :)

I also use estibot, eventhough it is only a machine and therefore not perfect, it will gather a lot of information which you would have to search for in many different places without it.
