Dear Apache forum readers: Maybe I had this wrong all along. Have had a domain space on Yahoo for two years, off and on. Now, for security reasons, thought that Apache optimally could be a standalone webserver for a multipurpose business eventually. But my one consultant I asked how to create my own webserver, and thence, I suppose browser(?), said get another one through Yahoo or GoDaddy. How wrong am I? Instead of am I wrong.... Must I always have a domain name through someone like Yahoo? As an example, my consultant currently has my webserver relegated to "test.mydomain.com," as a subdomain space of "mydomain.com" on Yahoo. Seems difficult, or even impossible in this way to do ftp from my test.mydomain.com, which is my current dilemma. Am soooo lost at getting my story straight, as the consultant seems too overwhelmed by the task to want to talk to me by emails, even. Help!! Sincerely, Yshua
The consultant now says he knows and plans to work with the steps needed. Please excuse me for asking what seems to have been to complicated a question here! Thanks for this forum being here, Yshua
