How do i backup my forum files

I want to upgrade my smf forum from a 1.. Version to a 2.. Version, so I want to back it up before doing dis.Pls how do I back it up on my external hard-disc.Thank you

 

do a home backup through your cpanel, also get a copy of your forum database.

just a heads up here, don't upgrade to smf 2.x series, its not stable.

I know i am not supposed to ask dis question here but pls help me out.I just puchased a domain new domain name, so I went to my domain manager in my host panel and edited the former domain to put the new one, but I discovered it created a new folder.though I still have the former folder with my former domain name and files in it.pls how do I make d new domain name link to that folder. do I edit the folder name or what?

 

you have to add that domain in your control panel and specify that particular folder as that domain.
