I have a website which has a members section. Lately, people have been signing up to the site and paying for a membership, but then they cancel because I'm not online to activate their membership in time. Even though I listed on the site that it could take 12 hours for me to activate the membership, some people are impatient, and I feel like its costing me customers. I'm looking for a way to automatically send a generic username and password to those who sign up to the site and pay through Paypal automatically. This way, they can login into the site even If I'm not online, and once I'm online, I can simply email them and get the unique username and password they can use. Is there a way to do this? The Ideal program I'm looking for would do this: 1. When I receive a new subscription payment via Paypal from a new member that just signed up, they are automatically send an email which contains a generic username and password that I've set up. 2. The user can automatically sign into the site without having to wait for me to activate his/her password. 3. Once I get online, check my emails, and find that a new member has signed up, I simply email him/her, ask them what unique username and password they would like to use, and once they send it, I simply activate it for them. I would likely need to get this to work via Paypal.
You could use PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN). It may require some extra coding to customize for your use. There are examples on this link. Search Google for "Paypal ipn" for ready-made third-party IPN scripts. https://www.paypal.com/ipn http://www.19.5degs.com/element/369.php
