Hi, One of my friend has a website and it is getting good amount of traffic. He asks me what should he do to attract advertisers. Can you please tell me in detail., means where should I post what else should be done.
If the trafic is relevant - provide trial periods. If adverizer is happy - he will pay. As rule huge traffic not attract because you are not sure if that relevant one or no
Most of the advertisers check the alexa ranking and page rank of your website. So try to improve more the alexa ranking of your website and page rank. Add "Advertise US" page and mention the rates or advertisement option with your website.

get quality content on your site, higher pr and then targetted traffic then you'll attrack more advertisers
invest on PPC and ADsense... they'll help in getting good advertisers... make unique contents for the site, and you can also make press releases for it...
If you have good quality traffic related to your niche than just provide them your stats , if they are really interested than they will sure buy space .Everything depends on promotions , if your blog is seen every where in comments in good sites than everyone will think we should try this site . The more you publicize and the more you will earn .
I think he is trying to find advertisers for the site not merely converting them into sales. Simple way is to advertise your advertisements in related forums. One thing you should definately do is put up the advertisements you are looking for (so the banners etc) and simply have advertise here on the banners with a link to your advertising details and prices. Some of that traffic may become interested. Good Luck
Advertisers want quality content as well as traffic. I agree starting with adsense is the easiest. Get some income and then e-mail companies in that niche and offer them a reasonable price to include their banner ads. It's simply hard work and persistence that will get the results. Good luck

If it has a lot of in coming traffic, advertisers will come looking for you instead of you go searching for them. Just display a banner at the site saying that "This spot is available for advertising purpose" and just provide a contact number for them to reach you.
