How do I allow my visitors to upload pictures to my site ??

I would like my visitors to be able to upload photos.

As of right now to upload, you have to join my phpbb forum, where I have a forum for pictures.
But I would like to do this outside of the forum.
Nothing too fancy, just the ability to upload picture with a short description.

I have no idea where to get started on this.... Any info would be greatly appreciated.

 

Use gallery scripts for that task,
Coppermine or Gallery2 is what I'd recommend here.

It doesn't come with any documentation, so I uploaded "as is" to my server, and get this error when I try to upload an image:

I'm obviously missing something, but without documentation, I'm lost.
I'm new to scripts, so could any of you pros lend a helping hand?
I can learn it own my own, just need to be pointed in the right direction.

 

Check to make sure the upload directory exists and is writable.

 

I've found another, which looks even better. Done through flash, it requires very little modification.
Working on incorporating it into my site now.
