Ok, my site has been live for almost 6 months, and when I started my business I obviously got a business phone line. Unfortunately for me the number used to belong to a company that made kaleidoscopes and other nicknacks, but went out of business last year. They still have a homepage up that displays my phone number and my phone number is included in a google search for their company. If I sold nicknack's and ships in bottles and other stuff, I wouldn't mind. But I sell futons and answering 15-20 calls a day about someone else's bankrupt business is getting old. So, can I inform google that this site has gone out of business to see if they will alter the search listing or is that not going to happen?
I called the company that hosts their site last week, but nothing has been changed at this point. Thanks, Matt
I don't get any visitors, just phone calls from people that want to know why the home page on the other site has a bunch of links that are broken as well as asking whether or not I can fix their stuff. It's kind of annoying, really. Matt
You could always start a new site in the vein of the old jerky brothers phone call pranks. Sounds like you have a lot of potential victims.
