I use Mambo (content management system). I would like to know how to offer different languages on my site. Ideally this option should be made available on the already present redirect page and again somewhere (maybe at the top) else on all the other pages. I am also not sure if this is done in through the content management system or in the ftp manager. Any help on this would be great. Thanks
I'm not really certain if this is what you are looking for but I ran across this the other day and recalled it when I read your post. http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/11/add-language-translation-to-website.html Hope this helps!
What do you mean offer different languages of your site? Do you mean you want to provide english, french, deutsh, etc version of your websites?
Yes. Mambo does offer a module that provides a slow translation of the current page being viewed. The thing is I would like the option to be a quick transition because the language selected will already be there for the whole site. No loading translation per page will be neccessary. Ex. mysite.***/english mysite.***/espanol etc. Not saying that this will be the way it will look but rather trying to give you an idea of what I am shooting for. Thanks
Now I have tried to download language packs and even when they are downloaded successfully into the Mambo system I can't change the configuration.php to writeable. Even if I could how would a language pack work? Would it automatically make everything on my site available in that type of language? Any help would be great. Thanks
