Hi, I ran an adwords campaign about a year ago just to dip my toe in and get used to it. Since then I have concentrated on the SEO of the site and have changed the domain name in the process. Now that the site is fully SEO'd (for the time being) I am beginning to look again at Adwords... BUT I can't for the life of me figure out how to change or add a domain to a campign or even add a new campaign with a new domian name. Spent a good hour just looking through the help section and on the Google forums... but nothing! Can anyone help?
The domain to which you will send your traffic is set in your ads: Campaign: Widgets Ad Group: Blue Widgets Keywords: "blue widgets", "cheap blue widgets" Ad: Cheap Blue Widgets The cheapest blue widgets in North America. Limited quantities! www.widgetmanufacturer.com/blue-widgets http://widgetmanufacturer.com/blue-widgets <- this is your destination URL, where you would put your new domain (your display URL should be the same domain) Hope this helps.
When I try and use Google's new 'Search Based Keyword Tool' to being researching my keywords, it gives me the following message: This website is not associated with your AdWords account. You're seeing a limited set of keyword ideas, which may include those already in your account and may or may not be currently active for this website. It does remember the domain I used for my test campaign last year however. Does this mean I have to set up an ad with the new domain so it is associated and only then will I get full access to the data? Cheers again!
I've never seen that message, at least I don't recall ever seeing it. Could be new. Not anything I would worry about. As beyondelectricdreams said more clearly than I have, the domain you advertise is set by your ad. You could have hundreds of different ads all pointing to pages on different domains (they must be in different groups). You only need one account to do this.
Google's search-based keyword tool analyzes your account's keywords and the keywords it deems relevant based on your website. When you access the tool are you choosing your website from the drop down menu or are you entering it manually? If your'e entering it manually that would explain why you're getting that message (or if you're logged in under a different Google account). As Lucid said don't worry about it too much. You can also use Google's Keyword Tool: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
You just use the new domain as your destination URL of your compaign. Google adwords account is not directly associated with any domain
