How do I acounce a contest the most efficient way, and get it in front of the most amount of people, this would be a contest like write the best article and win $1000 or something like that
If you are willing to give an article away for $1000, I dont think you will have trouble getting people to view your thread! Just dont lie and say you will give $1000 in your thread title and then say $10 in your thread. You will definately get an infraction then.
Create a buzz using stumble upon and digg of course. If you have money,spent it on some ads space at adword
What is the format of the competition? I'm assuming you'll get people to write articles and then the best one wins the prize? What's going to happen to the losing entries: do you get to keep them or will you discard them? Also, how long is the article going to be? I would advise that if it's 500 words or less then you shouldn't offer more than $100, let alone $1000!!! In terms of advertisment, you should try and post in the Buy, Sell and Trade forum here, as well as buying banners on freelance sites, as this will generate entries from a broad variety. Also, as mentos said, try and Digg and SU your post, as well as video marketing on YouTube and other video websites. You may even hire a marketer to market your contest if you have that much money to spend! EDIT: You should also leave a closing date. Make sure that you leave around 1 month after you started showing the banners/advertising the contest, as this will give people enough time to firstly write a brilliant article, and will also mean that more people can see it.
