Ive been thinking.... how in the world do some homeless people stay fat? My fridge is always full.... and yet Im only 160lb. They live on the street, and are horribly obese (granted not all... but quite a few). How is this possible?
spending the little money they have eating supersized mcdonalds meals everyday ? It's not like they have a kitchen to cook up a nice healthy meal ...
Spend your time, "Clipping Coupons* to give them so they can get a good deal on food fron the local Burger joints... This way you have to not give then actual Cash that they will spend on Beer or other things that are not heathly...
Or how about looking for a resolution to their homelessness? Help them help themselves, so to speak. A lot more sustainable than coupons. The local area should have some sort of scheme to help homeless people get back on their feet through education, paid employment and shelter. If the local area doesn't have such a scheme, lobby your local politicians to sort something out.
soup kitchens, church organizations, shelters, Salvation Army, Red Cross, etc. There are programs to help the homeless. It takes initiative to look for a way to allow yourself to be helped to get back on your feet. Let's also remember that there are some homeless people, who prefer being homeless. I'm not sure why anyone would want to be homeless, but... Most importantly, regarding homelessness, I think it is a disgrace that the United States has poverty-stricken, homeless Veterans. After you have given in such a way to your country, especially in times of war, you should never have to be poor or homeless for the rest of your life. Just my opinion...
mabe they get beer belly's from all the alcohol they are taking in? and their are many places which offer food to the homeless , and shelter, but the ones that dont care just live off alcohol.
there is an element of some kind of choice for homeless people. some do it because of other problems they can't deal with, hence the alcohol, hence the homeless-ness ( is that even a word?). some have real mental health issues which effect them in "our" sociaty. granted some are there not because of choice.
Someone should start a thread entitled "would the world be better if all homeless disappeared?" and put a poll on it. What would you guys vote?
Depends, how did they disappear? The correct way as in they were helped out, or at least an honest attempt made.. or?
Help them if possible if not... ...put them in labor camps ...deport them ...send them on an informational tour of Auschwitz?
