    Hi,

Until now I haven't tried google image ads and I was wondering if any of you guys have tried them and how they perform for you.

For example, do the image ads get more clicks than text ads?

I know that the CTR cannot be posted, but as a guideline, Which ranges could be reached with both formats (image and text)?

I have found that image ads get clicked less than text ads. Images look like adverts so are easy to ignore. Plus, you dedicate one large area to just one advert. Text ads blend in to the site more, and look less like an advert. Also, you can get four different adverts in one banner, so four times as many things that may appeal to your website users. On my pages, image ads do very poorly.

    Hi cornetto,

I agree with you. As a user, I think it is easier for me to click on a text ad than on an image. But I have not rated it.

People tend to ignore images because they have become banner blind. The chances of an image banner getting clicked solely depends on how much targetted that banner is & also it's design (i.e. detail). I am not sure which works best since I am using both formats at my site(s). Just as cornetto said, I also prefer text ads.
