How do frequent updates effect google indexing?

I noticed that sometimes my blog is being indexed rapidly. For a new post in 10 minutes the page shows up in google. Other times it takes a day or two. I think the reason is that google bot comes back when I am making alot of frequent posts, but if I only make a new post once a week then googlebot will not come as often.
Can someone shed some light on this and let me know exactly how it works?

Its depend up on the site PR and backlinks and content. If each one is good get index in few hours. If content is copy it take few days.

 

if you post at dp, your post will be indexed by google within 1 hour, i think.

 

Ok chances are you have an RSS feed or some other pinging tool applied to your blog, everytime you update it, it updates the RSS feed which in turn notifies feed aggregators. If it gets autopinged then that will notify Google directly.

People could also be linking to you or subscribing to your content, everytime something is updated they get notified and this in turn can bring Google a coming

 

Wordpress blog actually pings search engines when u make a post and then they mostly instantly add u if its unique content

 

Agree, after each post WP ping the new post to Ping Servers, so this also help for faster indexing. You can add more Ping Server to your WP preferences to promote your new post to more sites

 

better keep the updates in same frequency, or update your site in same time everyday

 

word press have a collection ping services and as you post any blog post, wordpress blog immediately call the search engine and search engines crawl the recent post and make that blog listed in search results.

 

if your few page index quickly then your rest page are indexed also, if properly interlinked with each page.

 

My blog posts on blogger site takes a day or two to be indexed, i have added my rss feeds as the sitemap to the webmaster tools.

 

It depend on the backlink. Digg, DP and blogspot can helps you get indexed very fast

Its affecting our google PR very well I guess..you are regularly updating means you will ping your blog too often..that will increase your visiblity..
