Hi all, I am trying to understand the secret of this marketing related to filehost system. So my question is : How do filehosts can give +$20 for CPM (1000 downloads) since AdNetwork even Adsense can't give that rates for CPM ? I just though because of selling Premium access, but even with that they should hope that will have 1 client from 1000 downloaders to get $10. So it should have more clients from 1000 downloaders to make a good profit, no ? Especially don't forget the thing that downloaders are always the same on internet. Do you have any idea for what really does this new marketing system work successfully ? Thank you.
if you take a quick overview to popular filehosting sites, you will see those rates are based on mostly three criteria Premium Sales Country Groups File Size mostly 2 out of these 3 limitations used. So, to get higher payments on downloads; you may have to generate premium sales.. or get downloads from top-level countries like U.S , U.K, Germany, France etc.. or share large-files.. at this point, most of file hosting sites cap download speed at minimum to lead users to premium accounts.. a user would not want to wait too much for downloading 1 gb file with ~50 kb/s speed. that is why file hosting sites pay higher for large files.
Thanks for you reply fhscout, you talk about some good things So rightly I am wondering about top-level countries and with that like you said we are not obligated to sell accounts. So how it works for theses countries ? However I did not think to this idea about the file size and speed, thanks and instead of this I was wondering if it should not be the reverse because big files use big bandwidth and that costs too much for $10/month especially when we know that mostly hosts give unlimited traffic with fast speed for their Premium clients, so with a little calculation for 1 client who download 30 days a big files like HD or Blu-ray one he will use around 100GB/day which is 3000GB/month. And like you see we don't talk about disk space to handle big files with good speed and other backsides ressources & fees. $10/month for such service is very nothing for me, it should be much more and with this new marketing system they have to "share" with their users (even not client) their income lol, I don't really see where is the success, it's just the best friendly business ever I think. I am also wondering why old popular hosts like Rapidshare, Megaupload, Mediafire, Zshare, etc have not implemented it until today...
maybe it does not really cost that much to generate 3000 gb bandwith filehosting sites actually the user profile you draw is mostly like a "leecher" profile. if a file hosting site targets top-level countries, which are almost western countries, the people live there does not suit much for a "leecher" profile though, some sites still have daily or monthly bandwith limitation for premium users also.. but most of them not, like hotfile megaupload etc.. but at some point, I also agree with you. I'm currently using filesonic. in both pay per sale and pay per download plan, they somehow do their work great to make both side generate high income.. maybe they should explain their secret
MAYBE BEC, If you will think in long run perspective you will see that filehosting company pays for each download because when they do that users/uploaders will upload and share/spread their links in the whole web, forums, blogs etc...in short link building and promotion... So that when they turn to a scam network they still have links on forums/blogs etc which which means free traffic for them and they will have the whole profits.
Premium account sales, of course. Top file hosting sites must be getting thousands of premium account sales each day. For example, as per my Hotfile account stats, my files alone made them $700 worth premium sales in the past 30 days. I'm just one among the tens of thousands of affiliates promoting them and you can just imagine the $$$ they are making.
600 or 700 ? I just wonder how much you earned from download while generating $700 usd premium sales?
Lol, past month was $600, I just recalculated this month's earnings and it was $707 I do not wish to disclose my download earnings, however, I've seen many affiliates here making hundreds of $$ a day from premium sales. It is just that if you know how to promote these sites, they real are good money makers. I'm talking from the site owner's point of view, not affiliates.
Sorry for the late guys and thank you for your replies Indeed there is a fact about bandwidth limitation like for Rapidshare or Filefactory but for Megaupload it's not a problem since they use points system not ca$h. So the question regard most the new ones like Filesonic, Bitshare, Duckload, etc who pay up to $45 per 1000 dowloads ! Surely there is a secret here And I don't really see why western people pay for Premium account if it's not for "leeching" or downloads but for uploads... lol that is true but it's the same with all kind of sites with membership system, they let you promote the site firstly after they ban you if there is some problem with cash or anything that they wont give you. Thanks for sharing your experience but can you tell us more about this Stats ? For exemple How much downloads of your files to make 700$ ? and how much place do your files take on the host sever ? Like I said before aside of user earning, we have to think about the cost of the resources that make the site working well because there is no Ads ont the site, so the only source of income is from accounts sales. And last thing, seriously if it is very profitable and it's easy to manage, so the question will be: Why other such sites that have more limitations don't do the same (no limitation and implementation of cash system) ?? Do you think they are idiots or they are not aware of that ?
